Uma and a seminar group chant the kirtan or mantraOm Namah Shivaya during a saturday evening satsang in a very loving way. Om Namah Shivaya is a salutation and the meaning of Shiva is "auspicious", "lover" and "good". He symbolizes the power of transformation, the personification of the power of universal destruction. The one who terminated existence and let new ones appear. Sometimes he dances the dance of creation, as Nataraja. The feminine aspect of Shiva is Durga, the universal mother. You can find the lyrics in the Yoga Vidya Kirtan Songbook as number 2. More information about yoga, meditation and training and further education look at yoga-vidya.org. Satyadevi and Janin Devi sing during a Saturday evening satsang at Yoga Vidya Bad Meinberg, Germany, the mantra He Govinda He Gopala, which you can find in Yoga Vidya Kirtan Songbook under number 158: Hey Hey Govinda, Hey Hey Gopala He Vasudeva He Nityananda Shri Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe-Syama "Hey Govinda Hey Gopala" is a Krishna Kirtan, expresses the closeness to Krishna. "He" is similar to the simply "Hey" or "Oh", "Oh Govinda", "Oh Gopala". This is a call: "May God come, we may know God." And God is invoked as Govinda, as the Good Shepherd, as Gopala, who takes care of all creatures. He is Vasudeva, light of all creatures. He is Nityananda, eternal bliss of all beings. He is Shri Radha, so he is the one who is always together with Radha. Radha means love and joy. He is Shyama, dark and mysterious. - Have fun listening and singing along this kirtan.
